Dublin City councillors will next month consider proposals to reduce or eliminate the 30kmh speed limit introduced to areas of the city centre less than a month ago.

Dublin City councillors will next month consider proposals to reduce or eliminate the 30kmh speed limit introduced to areas of the city centre less than a month ago.

The introduction on January 31 caused massive controversy among motoring lobby group, the AA, as well as national politicians and the public.

A motion will be put forward to the full council meeting in March to restore the 50km/h limit on parts of the city quays.
