Trade union to ballot BOS (Ireland) members

The UNITE trade union is to ballot its members at Bank of Scotland (Ireland) for industrial action up to and including strike action.

The bank announced last Tuesday that it is to close its Halifax branch network and associated services with the loss of 750 jobs.

A result of the ballot is expected within seven days.
