The State's mental health watchdog is warning three institutions that they could face closure, unless they improve conditions.

The Mental Health Commission has written to St. Loman's Hospital in Mullingar, St. Ita's in Portrane and St. Brendan's in Dublin, telling them to address shortcomings in care and accommodation.
