Four million counterfeit cigarettes seized in Cork

More than four million counterfeit cigarettes have been seized by customs officers in Cork.

The John Player Blue cigarettes were concealed in a shipment of beachwear which arrived from China at Cork Port.

The seizure represented a potential loss to the Exchequer of about €1.2m.
