Stardust memorial vigil to be held tonight

A candlelight vigil will be held tonight in memory of the 48 victims of the Stardust disaster in north Dublin.

A candlelight vigil will be held tonight in memory of the 48 victims of the Stardust disaster in north Dublin.

The names of the young people killed in the 1981 nightclub blaze will be called out during the short service at its site in Artane.

Grieving family members will join survivors of the blaze, which broke out during a Valentine's disco.

Members of the public are also being asked to attend an anniversary mass at St Joseph's Church on Greencastle Road in Coolock at 12.30 tomorrow.

It will be followed by a procession to the Stardust Memorial Park.
