Gardaí investigate shooting in Limerick

A man has been shot in Limerick in a gangland-style attack.

It happened on wasteground near Carey's Road on the south side of the city at around 5.10pm this evening.

Gardaí at Roxboro Road have sealed off the area.

The victim is believed to be in a stable condition at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.
