Another damning report into FÁS has shown how the agency and its former Director General Rody Molloy spent tens of thousands of euro on tickets for matches and concerts.

Another damning report into FÁS has shown how the agency and its former Director General Rody Molloy spent tens of thousands of euro on tickets for matches and concerts.

The Comptroller and Auditor General John Buckley said he can find no evidence how the money spent was in any way relevant to the business of FÁS.

The report by Mr Buckley's office has uncovered how thousands of euro of taxpayers' money was spent on rugby, soccer, GAA and concert tickets.

More than €8,000 was spent on hospitality at these events including €2,255 at a Robbie Williams concert.

Similar amounts were spent at All-Ireland finals.

All but one of the payments were authorised by Mr Molloy.

The Comptroller said there was no evidence on FÁS files to indicate how the expenditure was relevant to its business.

FÁS wrote to Rody Molloy seeking information but no response was provided.

This report also deals with Mr Molloy's so-called sweetheart pay-off when he resigned.

Mr Buckley said Mr Molloy's severance package effectively breached all guidelines in place by Government by €900,000.
