Transport Minister Noel Dempsey has signed an order to allow the mutual recognition of driving disqualifications between Ireland and the UK.

The framework for the agreement is contained in an EU Convention which covers offences such as reckless or dangerous driving, hit and runs, drink or drug driving and speeding.
