Fire brigade battles Laois pub blaze

Seven units of the fire brigade are battling a blaze at a pub in Mountmellick, Co Laois.

The fire at Horan's Bar on Patrick St in the town square got underway at about 5.20pm.

Elsewhere a man in his fifties has been hospitalised after a fire in Dublin early this morning.

The blaze at a house on Stanaway Road took place at around 5.30pm.

The man is being treated for severe smoke inhalation.
