President extends Christmas wishes to Irish everywhere

President Mary McAleese has extended her Christmas wishes for 2009 today, with special mention for all Irish relatives scattered around the world.

She says 2009 was a year that "sorely tested" many people, but was also a year where community spirit triumphed.
