Refrigeration company Permafrost Solutions has today announced plans to invest €1m to create 30 new jobs in Co Clare in 2010.

Permafrost equipment claims to lower energy costs, reduces carbon emissions and extend the lifespan of cooling equipment.

Commenting on Permafrost’s introduction to Ireland, Shane Mansell, director of business development said: "For businesses, air conditioning and refrigeration costs represent the largest line item expense for the year; sometimes constituting 50-60% of total energy consumption.

"Permafrost will reduce this cost by 10-20% resulting in significant energy savings. The SuperValu in Rathfarnham, Dublin, for example, is reporting a drop in their energy bills from €3,700 per month to €3,250 per month after the installation of Permafrost in October of this year."
