Man dies in Tipperary crash
A 26-year-old man has died in a car accident in Thurles, Co Tipperary.
The accident occurred shortly before 11.50am at Ballycurrane in Thurles.
The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
While the circumstances of the crash are unclear, the AA has described road conditions in Co Tipperary as icy and is urging drivers to take care
The road remains closed pending a forensic examination and diversions are in place.
Meanwhile driving conditions are described as "extremely hazardous" on most secondary and sheltered roads this afternoon.
Gardaí in counties Cavan, Donegal and Meath are advising motorists not to make any unnecessary journeys
Elsewhere officials at Dublin Airport say some delays are being experienced as a result of bad weather across Europe.
Meanwhile Manchester Airport has resumed full service after all of its planes were grounded because of severe weather.
Flights in and out of the airport have been given the green light after snow and ice was cleared.
