Man to be charged with toddler's murder

A 30-year-old man will appear in court later today charged with murdering Irish toddler Millie Martin.

The 15-month-old girl died in Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital on Friday after she was attacked and badly beaten at a house in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, the previous day.

The man will appear at Omagh Magistrates' Court this morning accused of murder.

Millie was taken with her mother Rachel to the Erne Hospital, Enniskillen, on Thursday before her transfer to the Royal.

There she was kept on a life support machine until members of her family arrived to say goodbye.

Her relatives have said they were suffering unbearable grief and were numb with pain.

Senior social workers within the Western Health Trust have been helping police with their inquiries.
