Body recovered from river in Waterford

A body has been recovered from the River Suir in Waterford.

The Carrick-on-Suir River Rescue confirmed they recovered a body from the river, downstream of Waterford City at around 12pm this afternoon.

A search of the area had been ongoing for the last 33 days.

The body has been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
