Begg: Talks collapse is 'inexplicable'

It is understood talks between public sector unions and the Government aimed at saving €1.3bn have collapsed.

The Taoiseach Brian Cowen and Finance Minister Brian Lenihan are holding a press conference this evening, while the unions are set to have their say at another later on.
