EU agrees to US using citizens' bank details

EU ministers have agreed a controversial deal to allow the United States to use data about European citizens' bank payments in anti-terror investigations.

The decision comes a day before a new EU treaty comes into force that would have given more rights to lawmakers to question the deal.
