Floods devastate Galway

Flooding is devastating parts of Galway this morning.

There's also a warning that the next five days will be crucial for Limerick and areas on the lower Shannon in the midlands and mid-west.

Members of the public are requested to advise the Limerick County Council of people who may require special assistance.

Residents in Clonfert in County Galway have spent the night trying to save their homes as flood waters rose rapidly.

IFA vice president for Connacht Micheal Silke has said the situation is critical.
