Funerals are being held today for two of the four young women who died in a car crash in Galway on Tuesday.

Nineteen-year-old Marie Ní Conghaile from Baile na hAbhann, Co Galway, will be buried following noon Mass in Rossaveal.

Twenty-year-old Sarah Byrne from Headford in Co Galway will also be buried this afternoon.

A Mass for Sorcha Rose McLaughlin from Mulgannon in Wexford is also being held today. She will be buried tomorrow on Achill Island.

Marie Ní Conghaile, Sarah Byrne and Sorcha Rose McLaughlin died alongside Teresa Molloy from Connemara when the car collided with a truck just outside Ballindine on Tuesday.

The horrific accident claimed the lives of the four NUI Galway students - while a fifth remains critically injured.

Funeral Mass for Marie Ní Conghaile will be held at Cill Treasa Church in Rossaveal and she will be buried in the local cemetery.

Friends and family of Sarah Byrne will gather at St Mary's Church in Headford at 1pm before the burial at Cloughanover cemetery later.

A funeral Mass for Sorcha Rose McLaughlin is being held in Clonard, Co Wexford today. She will be buried in Achill tomorrow.

Teresa Molloy will also be laid to rest tomorrow.

The fifth student - 21-year-old Michelle O'Donnell - remains in a critical condition in the neuro-intensive unit in Beaumont Hospital.
