A 58-year-old woman has died and a young child has been injured following a road crash in Co Galway.

A 58-year-old woman has died and a young child has been injured following a road crash in Co Galway.

The incident occurredat Williamstown Village on the Glenamaddy Road just after 9am.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while a five-year-old girl was taken to Galway University Hospital with minor injuries.

The road is currently closed while a technical examination is carried out.
