Cowen: Prescription levy 'just one option'

Taoiseach Brian Cowen was today playing down the question of a possible prescription charge for medical card holders in next month's Budget.

Yesterday Health Minister Mary Harney signalled the Cabinet was considering the charge in a bid to subsidise the health budget and prevent over-prescription by doctors.
