Harney warns of €1bn in health cuts

The Health Minister Mary Harney has warned that almost €1bn worth of cuts will have to be made in the health service in next month's Budget.

She says the savings will have to come with more flexible work practices, shorter hospital stays, and more patients treated in the community.
