Bishop received sectarian threats over schools funding

A Church of Ireland Bishop has told his followers on Twitter that he received sectarian letters over the controversy surrounding the withdrawal of funding for Protestant schools.

A Church of Ireland Bishop has told his followers on Twitter that he received sectarian letters over the controversy surrounding the withdrawal of funding for Protestant schools.

Bishop of Cork, Cloyne and Ross Paul Colton has been critical of the Education Minister Batt O'Keeffe's handling of the issue.

The Government is planning to cut a number of financial supports for Protestant schools, in a bid to save €2.8m.

Bishop Colton has declined to comment further on the Twitter posts.
