SIPTU claims “civil war” between ordinary workers and high earners
SIPTU says the real "civil war" in Ireland is between ordinary workers and high earners eager to stay out of the tax net.
The union says the divide between public and private sector workers is a construct of the Government to split the union movement down the middle.
Earlier this week, the Finance Minister Brian Lenihan said civil servants want to increase taxes just to protect their own wages.
SIPTU's Padraig Yeates says this is simply a diversion.
