The number of overseas visits to Ireland in the first eight months of this year was down almost 11% on the same period last year, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

The number of overseas visits to Ireland in the first eight months of this year was down almost 11% on the same period last year, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

In the year to August 2009, there were 4,886,900 trips to Ireland, 596,400 (10.9%) less than the same period in 2008.
