Staff and other union members protest INN closure
Journalists held a protest over the planned closure of radio news service Independent Network News this afternoon.
Staff and other members of journalists' union the NUJ staged the lunchtime demonstration outside the INN offices on Lower Mount Street in Dublin to coincide with the company's latest board meeting.
The service is due to end on October 30 with the loss of more than 20 jobs.
Staff are being offered only statutory redundancy, and the union maintains the company has so far failed to engage in any meaningful negotiations.
INN provides news and sport to a network of independent local radio stations and websites around the country.
