Murder of soldier ‘should carry 40-year term’

The organisation that represents members of the Defence Forces is calling for laws to ensure the murder of an Irish soldier carries a mandatory 40-year prison term.

Such a law is already in place in relation to the murder of gardaí or prison officers.
