Efforts to free Irish aid worker set to intensify
Efforts to secure the release of kidnapped Irish aid worker Sharon Commins are reportedly set to intensify this week.
The 32-year-old GOAL employee and a Ugandan colleague were abducted in Darfur more than three months ago.
Their captors were reported to be demanding a ransom.
Reports this morning say the Sudanese government minister who has been overseeing negotiations with the kidnappers is due to travel to Darfur tomorrow as part of renewed efforts to free the pair.
The Irish and Ugandan ambassadors will be accompanying him on the trip.
