Man injured in McGillycuddy Reeks fall

A man is being treated in hospital after he was injured on the McGillycuddy Reeks in Co Kerry.

It is understood the man had been walking with a group and sustained head injuries in a fall.

A rescue operation was launched by Kerry Mountain Rescue and the Shannon Coastguard Helicopter was tasked to the scene.

The man has been airlifted to Kerry General Hospital, where he is being assessed.
