SIPTU threatens strike action campaign

SIPTU looks set to launch a campaign of strike action over what is described as the lack of progress in relation to the economic crisis.
Over the past two days the National Executive undertook a detailed review of the economic and industrial situation.
It decided that the Government is prepared to let working people shoulder the burden of mismanagement of the economy.
In March, unions including SIPTU called off threatened strike action and agreed to enter talks.
But SIPTU spokesperson Padraig Yeates said there is no prospect of success.
