SIPTU demands strict new auditing procedures at FÁS
SIPTU wants to see more rigorous auditing procedures implemented at FÁS to prevent a repeat of the excessive spending that was revealed at the State body last week.
The union says more robust reporting structures are needed at all levels and it's calling for expert advice to be provided where needed.
Last week's damning Comptroller and Auditor General's report revealed massive spending overruns and wastage in FÁS between 2002 and 2008.
SIPTU Regional Secretary Patricia King says the new measures must ensure that every financial function in the organisation is examined.
