Three men held after attempted hotel robbery

Gardaí have arrested three men in their 30s following an attempted robbery at the Marriott Hotel in Enfield, Co Meath, this morning.

The incident happened at around 5am, when three men armed with a screwdriver entered the premises and threatened staff.

Gardaí who were patrolling the area at the time noticed suspicious activity in the vicinity of the hotel and subsequently arrested one man at the scene.

The other two men fled on foot and were detained a few hours later following an extensive search involving the Garda Air Support Unit.
