Talks with bandits who kidnapped two aid workers in Darfur are going well and the hostages may be freed soon, according to the Sudanese government.

The two workers, an Irish woman and a Ugandan woman with the Irish humanitarian aid agency GOAL, were abducted at gunpoint in July by bandits seeking a ransom.
