Armstrong calls for more cancer-control investment
Cycling legend Lance Armstrong has called on world leaders to make a renewed investment in cancer control.
The seven-times Tour de France winner was speaking at the beginning of a three-day cancer summit at the RSD in Dublin organised by his Livestrong Foundation.
A report presented at the summit estimates that new cancer cases in 2009 cost $300bn (€209bn) worldwide.
Armstrong says this highlights the need for money to be properly invested to tackle the problem.
