Coastguard searches for missing surfer

A surfer has gone missing off the Mayo coast.

The alarm was raised shortly after 2pm this afternoon.

The Ballyglass lifeboat was launched after the man was reported missing between Cleggan island and Ardmore Point.

His surfboard has been recovered, but he has not yet been found.

The coastguard is coordinating the operation.
