Man held over Galway drugs seizure released

Gardaí investigating a €14,000 drugs seizure in Galway have released a man in his 50s who was arrested following the discovery.

The herbal cannabis was uncovered during planned searches of a number of houses in the Loughrea area last night.

Two men - one in his early 50s and the other in his 30s - were arrested at one of the houses and taken to Loughrea Garda station for questioning.

The man in his 30s remains in custody and the other man has been released. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
