Woman found dead in Phoenix Park was stabbed, confirm gardaí

Gardaí say initial examinations indicate that a woman, found dead in Dublin's Phoenix Park yesterday, had been stabbed a number of times in the chest.

A post-mortem examination is being carried out this evening on the woman, whose body was found in a wooded area of the park near the area known as the Fifteen Acres.

A murder investigation is underway and gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area of Military Road in the Phoenix Park during the past few days to contact them.
