Two charged after attempted murder in Down

A 24-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man will appear before Downpatrick Magistrates Court later today charged in connection with an assault on a man on Saturday night.

Both people have been charged with attempted murder.

The 42-year-old victim was attacked in the Tollymore Forest Park in Co Down.

He is now in a stable condition in hospital.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and information.
