National counselling service expects rise in calls

The national counselling service for abuse victims said it is preparing for an upsurge in calls once the Dublin Diocese abuse report is published.

The report examines how a total of 19 bishops in Dublin between 1975 and 2004 handled child abuse allegations against a sample of 46 priests.

The Minister for Justice has referred the report to the High Court for a ruling on its possible publication.
