Attempted robbery on ATM in Co. Meath

There has been another attempted robbery on an ATM using a digger.

It happened at Ulster Bank on the Main Street in Athboy, Co Meath at around 6am this morning.

The gang tried to remove the ATM from the wall but were unsuccessful.

They fled the scene, leaving the digger behind.

Gardaí say the bank was damaged during the attempted raid.

It is the latest in a number of such robberies around the country.
