Masked gang threatens elderly couple in Lurgan

Police in the North are trying to establish the motive for threats made against two elderly people at their home in Co Armagh last night.

Three masked men smashed their way into the house in Lurgan with hammers before warning the couple that they had 48 hours to get out.

The intruders smashed a television and a grandfather clock, but did not steal anything.

The occupants - Robert and Gertrude Hesketh - had only just moved back into their family home of 40 years after living elsewhere for 18 months.
