Free bikes scheme for Dublin from September

Some 450 new bicycles will be available for use by Dubliners and visitors from September onwards, it was announced today.

The bikes will be free to use for the first half hour from 40 different locations around the city.

The service is being provided and maintained by advertising company JC Decaux, who will also erect signposts around the city, pointing out various amenities.

The bikes will be available from September 13.
