Galway man killed in US workplace accident

An Irishman is dead following a workplace accident in the United States.

Brian Forde, who is in his early 20s and originally from Athenry in Co Galway, died yesterday in New York.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is providing consular assistance to the man's family.

Arrangements are now being made to fly his body home.

It is the second US-based tragedy to hit Galway in recent weeks- Ann Coleman from Ballyglunin lost her life in a car crash along with her husband Joe O' Connell three weeks ago.
