SIPTU members to picket waste-collection firm

More than 40 SIPTU members are set to picket a waste-collection company in Co Tipperary as part of a row over pay cuts.

The union says Mr Binman is trying to impose pay cuts of up to 49% without any consultation and is refusing to negotiate on the matter.

Sixty people work at the company's plant in Carrick-on-Suir.

SIPTU says it has offered to meet management to discuss any problems facing the company, but the offer has been snubbed and the firm has also rejected the intervention of the Labour Relations Commission.
