Two former UDR men under threat from RIRA

Two former members of the British Army's Ulster Defence Regiment have been warned about a threat to their lives from the Real IRA, according to a local DUP Assembly member.

Ian McCrea says two former members of the controversial regiment have been told that the dissident republican group is plotting to kill them.

Mr McCrea's father - South Antrim MP Willie McCrea - was also warned last week of a threat to his life from dissidents.

He is now calling for a hard-hitting security response to the threats.
