Coughlan denies that department is set to be split up
The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Mary Coughlan is dismissing media speculation that her department is about to be split up.
Newspaper reports in recent days suggested that a new economic department is to be created to attract investment into this country and create jobs.
It's been speculated that the new department is one of the recommendations to be featured in the report on cost cuttings in the public service, which will be presented to the Minister for Finance in the coming days.
Minister Coughlan told reporters earlier that any speculation is way off the mark.
