Elderly raise concerns over Government cuts
Older people say they are very concerned that Government cuts will have a negative impact on their basic standard of living.
They say the scrapping of the Christmas bonus along with cuts to home care and housing aid will affect their daily lives.
Age Action Ireland is holding its Annual General Meeting today and its raising concerns about pension protection and possible cuts to social welfare rates.
Spokesperson Eamon Timmons said elderly people are most worried about restrictions to the medical card.
