Cowen predicts deal on Lisbon guarantees

Taoiseach Brian Cowen predicted a deal would be reached among EU leaders to give Irish voters guarantees about the Lisbon Treaty.

Mr Cowen and Foreign Affairs Minister Micheál Martin, as well as European Affairs Minister Dick Roche, are meeting their counterparts at Brussels ahead of an expected agreement.
