Woman injured outside Monaghan hospital taken to Cavan A&E

A woman involved in a traffic accident outside the gates of Monaghan General Hospital has been taken to Cavan Hospital, a 40-minute drive away.

Two vehicles were in collision just outside the facility at about 3.30pm.

However, emergency services were forced to rush the woman 45km away as Monaghan does not take trauma cases.

It is not yet known if anyone sustained any serious injuries in the crash.
