Voter turnout highest in Co. Galway

Voting is continuing in the local, European and two Dublin by-elections and so far voter turnout is fluctuating between 20% and 40%.

Voting is continuing in the local, European and two Dublin by-elections and so far voter turnout is fluctuating between 20% and 40%.

In Dublin, the latest figures show that the average voter turnout is 22.7 % with the highest of 30% in Clontarf, while the North Inner City is down at 15%.

In Limerick City, it is at 20% while in Co. Limerick, it is slightly higher on 25%.

In the town of Hospital, a figure of 33% turnout has been recorded.

Voter turnout in Co. Laois is at 20%, Cavan and Monaghan are both on 25%, Cork city is on 20% and Co. Clare is on 30%.

However in South Galway a 40% turnout has been recorded with mid to east Galway on 35%.

The polls will close at 10pm tonight.
