Injured soldier still in critical condition in Cork
A soldier injured in an army training exercise in Co Cork on Wednesday night remains in a critical condition in hospital this morning.
Twenty-nine-year-old Kenneth Sheehan, from Cork city, received blast injuries while acting as a safety umpire during a night-firing training drill in Kilworth.
He underwent emergency surgery last night and is recovering after the operation, but is still said to be in a critical condition in Cork University Hospital.
A full investigation is being carried out into the incident.
